El Museo De Zamboanga

Pasonanca Road, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur
Located at the higher elevations of Pasonanca, at the Paseo de Jardin and just opposite the Science Museum, El Museu de Zamboanga showcases the history of the city, from its beginnings as a territory of Tedurays, its conquest and reconquest by the Spaniards, the coming of the Americans, the new republic and events leading up to the present.
The museum is circular in form with a central gallery separate from the main exhibit where Zamboanga’s one and only senator, Roseller Tarroza Lim’s memorabilia is exhibited.

Fort Pilar

“Fort  Pilar Shrine”
This is originally a Spanish Garrison build during their occupation in Mindanao to guard the island against the fierce Moro warriors waging war against the occupation of conqueror Spain. Later on a myth was told by the natives that there was an earthquake and the area was threatened by a huge tsunami but a lady stood by the seashore and waves her hands in the sky aborting the tsunami, they believed that it was a miracle and they built a shrine in the area to gather and pray.

Fort Pilar is historic site dating back to Spanish time. It contains the old ruin fort structure. Bare, not much museum relics to see, although it contain a small gallery of old picture and drawings. Good view on top of tower of the sea, the city, port. Cannon are non-metallic replicas

Limpapa Beach, Zamboanga City Philippines

Limpapa Beach
Underneath the coconut grove (to the right side of the photo), you can see the unpaved barangay road heading north to the border. As you can see the beach is clean and pristine. It's great for swimming as you can walk far into the water before it gets deep.
As the population of Limpapa grows and as tourism increases, squatters are moving in to the precious beach front properties and the vicious cycle of degradation continues as it has happened to many other beach front areas in Zamboanga City.
This is such a beautiful site. I wish it can be protected.
